Our Program

Our massage program offers a comprehensive curriculum that seamlessly integrates the art and science of massage therapy and bodywork with a holistic approach to client care. Students gain hands on training in a diverse range of manual therapy techniques, from Swedish and deep tissue, to sports massage and myofascial release, each designed to address different client needs.

In addition to technical skills, our program emphasizes client communication, fostering a deep understanding of how to create a compassionate, client-centered environment. Ethical standards and professional conduct are also core elements, ensuring our graduates are prepared not only to practice effectively but to build trust and maintain long-term relationships with their clients.

Whether students aim to work in wellness centers, clinical settings, or private practices, our program equips them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to provide high-quality, holistic care.

About Our Curriculum

The Saginaw School of Massage is a 700 hour Massage Therapy Program. This program is designed for students aspiring to gain licensure in the field of massage therapy. Our curriculum covers essential knowledge and skills in five major areas:

  • Anatomy and Physiology - Students gain a thorough understanding of the body’s systems, structures, and functions, building a solid foundation for effective and safe massage practice.

  • Massage Theory and Practice - Through both theoretical study and hands-on practice, students learn various massage techniques, modalities, and best practices, allowing them to tailor their approach to different client needs.

  • Pathology and Treatment - This area explores common conditions, injuries, and diseases, focusing on how massage can support recovery, alleviate symptoms, and improve overall wellness in clients with specific health concerns.

  • Kinesiology - Understanding human movement and biomechanics is essential for massage therapy. Students study the science of movement, learning how muscles, joints, and connective tissues interact and how to optimize these functions through massage.

  • Clinical Business Practices - To prepare students for professional success, this section covers essential business knowledge, including client management, ethics, legal requirements, and marketing practices necessary for establishing and maintaining a successful practice.
